Since the introduction of laptops into the consumer market, there has always been talk about portability. Small laptop computers were introduced to make notebooks ultra-mobile a few years back and since the competition has become hotter. This makes the small Tablet PC a handy computer and can be used for working even while standing up or in tight places like while traveling in a metro. They are versatile for small functions like checking and replying back to emails immediately.
But then again, what you really gain through portability, you lose in performance. Some of the small laptop computers don't have any CD/DVD optical drives and most of them will have small memory, hard disk space and a basic graphics card. But not to worry because these small laptops have external ports from where you can connect external CD/DVD writers and can also connect USB hard disks and portable disks for taking backup or when you require more space. One of the things that you might have to work hard to get a hang of is the compact keyboard. Since the size of the laptop has been reduced hence the keyboard will be smaller and this means that you will not be able to type with high speed.
As a comparison, you will find that most standard laptops available in the usa have monitor screens that range from 12-15 inches in size but small laptop computers will have screens that vary from 8.9-12 inches in size. The screen will also not be a high definition screen but a simple VGA or XGA screen. All the exclusions also ensure that small laptop computers are available cheap and can be operated without any hassle at all. They are getting lighter, thinner and smaller by the day and who knows the next size might just fit into your palm!
